Rehabilitación de vivenda tradicional | Mallas · Fisterra

Na arquitectura tradicional, cada proxecto comeza moito antes da propia vivenda. Comeza no lugar: na relación co terreo, cos camiños, cos muros de pedra e cunha paisaxe construída ao longo de xeracións.

Esta rehabilitación, situada no lugar de Mallas (Fisterra), nace coa vontade de recuperar unha edificación existente respectando a súa identidade e reforzando a súa integración na contorna. A vivenda aséntase nunha parcela en pendente, próxima a un pequeno curso fluvial, unha condición que define tanto a implantación da edificación como a organización dos espazos exteriores.

A intervención conserva a volumetría e o carácter da construción tradicional, reorganizando os espazos interiores para adaptalos ás necesidades actuais. A luz natural, a funcionalidade e a relación coa paisaxe convértense nos eixes principais do proxecto.

Cada decisión procura dialogar coa arquitectura popular de Mallas, poñendo en valor os peches de pedra, a vexetación e a estreita relación entre a vivenda e o territorio. Máis que recuperar unha edificación, este proxecto pretende prolongar a súa historia, demostrando que tradición e arquitectura contemporánea poden convivir desde o respecto polo lugar.

In traditional architecture, every project begins long before the house itself. It begins with the place: the relationship with the land, the rural paths, the stone walls and a landscape shaped over generations.

Located in the rural village of Mallas, Fisterra, this rehabilitation project aims to recover an existing dwelling while preserving its identity and strengthening its connection with the surrounding landscape. The house stands on a sloping site close to a small stream, a natural condition that defines both the building's position and the organisation of its outdoor spaces.

The intervention preserves the original volume and character of the traditional building while reorganising the interior to meet contemporary living needs. Natural light, functionality and the relationship with the landscape become the guiding principles of the design.

Every decision seeks to respect the vernacular architecture of Mallas, highlighting the stone boundaries, native vegetation and the close relationship between the house and its surroundings. More than restoring a building, this project extends its life while looking towards the future with respect for its heritage.
